Number Theory

Number theory deals with the study of different types of numbers.

What are Different Types of Numbers?

The different types of numbers are real numbers, rational numbers, irrational numbers, prime numbers, odd numbers and composite numbers.

What are Real Numbers?

Real numbers: The Real is a universal set of all the numbers that is Real numbers = {rational, irrational, even, odd, and composite numbers}

What are Composite Numbers?

Composite Numbers: The Numbers which are having factors other than 1 is called a composite numbers. Example = {4, 8, 16...} Here 8 have the factors 2, 4, 8 other than 1.

What are Even Numbers?

Even numbers: The numbers which are divisible by 2 are called even numbers.

What are Odd Numbers?

Odd numbers: The numbers which are not divisible by 2 are called odd numbers. Example: 1, 3, 5, 7 and so on.

What are Prime Numbers?

Prime numbers: The numbers which are divisible by 1 and by itself are called prime numbers. 1. Example 1, 5, 7, 11..... These are the numbers which have factors 1 and the number itself.

What are Rational Numbers?

Rational numbers: The Numbers which are of the form p/q and q not equal to 0 are called rational numbers.

What are Irrational Numbers?

Irrational numbers: The numbers which are of the form $\sqrt{3}$, $\sqrt{7}$ and so on are irrational numbers. In this case they are not having perfect square roots defined.
