__Number Theory__

Number theory deals with the study of different types of numbers.

## What are Different Types of Numbers?

The different types of numbers are real numbers, rational numbers, irrational numbers, prime numbers, odd numbers and composite numbers.

## What are Real Numbers?

**Real numbers:** The Real is a universal set of all the numbers that is
Real numbers = {rational, irrational, even, odd, and composite numbers}

## What are Composite Numbers?

**Composite Numbers:** The Numbers which are having factors other than 1 is called a composite numbers.
Example = {4, 8, 16...} Here 8 have the factors 2, 4, 8 other than 1.

## What are Even Numbers?

**Even numbers:** The numbers which are divisible by 2 are called even numbers.

## What are Odd Numbers?

**Odd numbers:** The numbers which are not divisible by 2 are called odd numbers. Example: 1, 3, 5, 7 and so on.

## What are Prime Numbers?

**Prime numbers:** The numbers which are divisible by 1 and by itself are called prime numbers.
1. Example 1, 5, 7, 11..... These are the numbers which have factors 1 and the number itself.

## What are Rational Numbers?

**Rational numbers:** The Numbers which are of the form p/q and q not equal to 0 are called rational numbers.

## What are Irrational Numbers?

**Irrational numbers:** The numbers which are of the form $\sqrt{3}$, $\sqrt{7}$ and so on are irrational numbers. In this case they are not having perfect square roots defined.
